    Yeah, I do that, too! I'm good at it! I've got reasonable prices, stellar attention to detail, and crystal clear communication. I pick-up and drop-off in the Pittsburgh area or through Murphy's Music Center in Wexford and Leechburg. My pricing for general services is listed below. Contact me for a more in-depth quote!

 

Setups include truss rod adjustments, saddle adjustments (intonation when adjustable), cleaning, fret polishing, fretboard/bridge oiling (for open grain woods), and restringing. Upcharges for cleaning are added at my discretion. The customer must either provide strings or pay for strings on top of the setup charge.

  • Standard electric guitar/ bass setups starting at $50. 
    • Truss rod at the neck heel upcharge: $20 (only if neck removal is necessary)
    • Nut filling/filing upcharge: $20
    • Extra cleaning upcharge: $10 
    • 12 string upcharge: $10
    • Floyd Rose upcharge: $40
  •  Standard acoustic setup starting at $60
    • Nut filling/filing upcharge: $20
    • Extra cleaning upcharge: $10 
    • Tie-off nylon string upcharge: $10
    • 12 string upcharge: $10
  • Mandolin, banjo, archtop (instruments with a floating bridge) setup starting at $60
    • Banjo head tuning upcharge: $20
    • Nut filling/filing upcharge: $20
    • Extra cleaning upcharge: $10 

 

Restrings only include light cleaning and restringing. Customers must provide strings or pay for them on top of the restring charge. 

  • Standard electric, bass, or acoustic restring starting at $25
    • Tie-off nylon, 12 string, mandolin, banjo, archtop upcharge: $10
    • Floyd Rose upcharge: $20 (resetting fine tuners included)
    • Extra cleaning upcharge: $10

 

Replacing Hardware is quoted case by case. I can source most replacement hardware (original or 3rd party depending on availability) and charge it to the final repair bill at market value (no sourcing upcharge). 

 

Pickup Installs don’t have a standard pricing although they will generally fall within a range of $50 - $150. I’ll do simple pickup swaps in electric guitars and pickup/preamp installs in acoustics (soundhole mounted preamps only).

 

Electronic Repairs are limited to swapping individual malfunctioning components and range from $40 - $100. I don't do custom rewires or repair/finish aftermarket installs/wiring jobs.
